Kakunodate Denshiro is the signature brand of Fujiki Denshiro Shoten, a heritage workshop that has been crafting exceptional kabazaiku (cherry bark work) since its founding in 1851, during Japan’s late Edo period. Spanning seven generations, their creations combine the expressive beauty of natural materials, craftsmanship refined over more than 240 years, and contemporary designs that harmonize effortlessly with modern living spaces. Each piece brings an understated elegance and warmth to everyday life, carrying forward the timeless spirit of Japanese artistry.

Company History
1851 − The first Denshiro founded a local specialty goods wholesaler.
1879 − The second Denshiro opened as a regional wholesaler of kabazaiku (traditional cherry bark work) and launched a retail store.
1964 − The fifth Denshiro established Fujiki Denshiro Shoten Co., Ltd.
1976 − Opened the Unosawa Factory.
1990 − Rebuilt the head office and main store.
2001 − The sixth Denshiro, Koichi Fujiki, assumed leadership.
2010 − Launched the “Kakunodate Denshiro” brand.
2018 − The seventh Denshiro, Tomoko Misawa, became president.
