Carving Light from Metal: A Project Born in Hitachi
Carving Light from Metal: A Project Born in Hitachi

From Hitachi, Ibaraki—an ambitious project devoted to perfecting the art of subtraction.
We begin with a blank block of metal, then cut and shape it into forms so refined, they stop you in your tracks.

To us, cutting is not just a technique—it’s an act of devotion. A process through which the maker reveals what the material was always meant to be.

This is the spirit in which we work.
The project was born from a group of young creators at Imahashi Seisakusho, a workshop with over 50 years of history in Hitachi, Ibaraki.

Though small in scale, our cutting techniques are known throughout Japan. We begin with curiosity—with the simple urge to try something new—and let that impulse lead the way.
Titanium and the Pursuit of the Essential
Our material of choice is titanium, a metal of extraordinary strength, used even in space development.
It is one of the most challenging materials to shape—and one of the most rewarding.

To create truly compelling products, we reach beyond conventional industry lines—collaborating with designers and artists, working closely with the Ibaraki Industrial Technology Innovation Center to research titanium color treatments.

By stripping away the unnecessary, we uncover the essence.
This is craftsmanship that cuts deep—not just into metal, but into the heart of the one who holds it.
CEO message
Having endured extraordinary challenges—from the 2008 financial crisis to the Great East Japan Earthquake—we, as small-scale manufacturers, feel more than ever that our true strength as a company is being tested.

In today’s environment, it is increasingly difficult to rely on the conventional subcontractor model, where growth hinges on executing from pre-existing drawings.

Though we are a small team, our mission is to refine our core technologies to not just be the best in Japan, but the best in the world. We aim to grow as a company that proposes and drives innovation, rather than simply executing it.

With a focus on strategic specialization, expanding a team of solution-oriented engineers, and a shared spirit of perseverance—we are a group of makers with both tenacity and balance.
From Hitachi City in Ibaraki, we will continue to deliver bold, energetic innovation.
