This is a Japanese plate created by Noboru Yamada, a traditional craftsman. The skills of Noboru Yamada, a Kyoto kimono gold leaf artisan, have been captured in this glass vessel. As each piece is handmade, no two are exactly alike.

This plate is created by "Yakihaku Kirihaku Kuroji 焼箔切箔黒地" method. It is a decorative technique where heat-treated gold leaf, cut into precise shapes, is applied to a black background. This creates a striking contrast between the shimmering, warm tones of the gold and the deep black, highlighting the intricate patterns formed by the cut gold leaf.
