This is a work by Noboru Yamada, a traditional craftsman. The skills of Noboru Yamada, a Kyoto kimono gold leaf artisan, have been captured in this glass vessel. As each piece is handmade, no two are exactly alike.

Hongin Hyouwarekawari "本銀氷割変り" describes a decorative technique where high-purity silver leaf (本銀) is treated to create an ice-crackle pattern (氷割) and then further modified in some unique way (変り) before being applied to a surface. This technique likely results in a delicate and intricate design with a distinctive cracked appearance and subtle variations in the silver leaf.
