This long-selling product is the proud recipient of the 1996 Good Design Award and the 2021 Long Life Design Award in Japan.

Crafted from beech wood sourced from natural forests in Japan, each bowl undergoes a careful six-month drying process before being shaped by skilled artisans in Odawara. Every piece is meticulously hand-carved—starting with the artisan even handcrafting the blades used for carving, a testament to their dedication and uncompromising craftsmanship.

The finish uses a safe, food-grade urethane coating, the same type used for school lunch bowls in Odawara, ensuring both safety and durability.

Each bowl showcases its own unique wood grain, left intentionally visible to highlight the natural beauty and individuality of the wood.

With its generous size and timeless design, this bowl enhances any dish—Japanese or Western. It’s perfect not only for miso soup, but also for heartier dishes like tonjiru (pork soup), stews, and even as a serving bowl for hot pot.
