This original tea canister from Fujiki Denshiro Shoten features a distinctive cherry bark accent that elegantly peeks through like a decorative sash. By shortening the outer cylinder, the inner cherry bark layer is revealed, creating a refined contrast with the rich color of the outer wood. While innovative in design, this tea canister beautifully highlights the craftsmanship and unique qualities inherent to traditional Kabazaiku cherry bark work.
The inner cylinder is fully lined with cherry bark, creating a striking visual contrast against the outer cylinder when the lid is removed. Additionally, the inner lid is designed deeper than standard and omits a handle, allowing it to conveniently double as a tea scoop when transferring tea leaves into a teapot. The canister’s color evokes the breathtaking cherry blossoms in full bloom in Kakunodate.

Care Guide

・Avoid using it in a refrigerator, as extreme dryness may cause the peeling of the surface or deformation of the entire product.
・Do not soak it in water or hot water, and do not use it in a dishwasher.
・Do not use it in a microwave or oven.
・To prevent peeling of the cherry bark, avoid exposing it to water. Also, do not leave it in highly humid places for extended periods.
・To prevent warping, cracking, or discoloration, avoid direct sunlight.
・Avoid sudden temperature changes caused by contact with heated or cooled objects, as this may lead to discoloration, warping, or cracking.
・Be cautious of strong impacts, such as dropping the product, which may cause damage.
For polished kabazaiku (cherry bark craft) products, no coating is applied to allow customers to enjoy the natural texture of the material. Therefore, please avoid moisture as much as possible. In case the product comes into contact with moisture, immediately wipe it off with a soft, dry cloth.
Align the edges of the body and the lid when closing the lid. Since both the body and lid are made using the same wooden mold, aligning the edges allows for smooth closure.
As each product is handcrafted, there may be slight individual differences in how the outer and inner lids fit. Thank you for your understanding.
The tea caddy maintains an appropriate level of humidity, preserving tea leaves in good condition.
The outer surface is coated with urethane, so it can be wiped with water or lightly rinsed.
However, while it repels moisture, do not soak it in water or hot water, and do not use it in a dishwasher.
