Flower vase Rin

The word “Rin” evokes the sharp, bracing chill of deep winter—a cold so intense it seems to tighten the very air.

This vase, titled “Rin”, is inspired by a delicate flower that endures through winter, quietly blooming beneath layers of snow.

Its pure white color is created using Shino glaze, a traditional Japanese glaze made primarily from feldspar.
Though feldspar is a base material for glass, Shino glaze tends to form crazing and bubbles, resulting in a distinctive milky, clouded finish.
The subtle gloss and texture reminiscent of glass convey the quiet beauty and chill of winter.
