Sakeware That Elevates Every Gesture

Crafted from pure tin, known for its ability to mellow the flavor of sake, this sake ware focuses on the unique properties of a material deeply rooted in Japanese tradition.

We sought to redefine the typically masculine image of the sake bottle by refining the simple act of pouring into something elegant and intentional. The result is a set of sake bottle designed not only for taste but also for the beauty of motion.

<Warmed Sake Set>

The sake bottle features a rattan-wrapped neck to protect your hand from heat while pouring.
The sake cup is double-walled to retain warmth and provide a comfortable hold, even when serving warmed sake.

<Chilled Sake Set>

The surface is finished with a satin finish—soft and subtly grainy—to prevent your hand from becoming uncomfortably cold. The tactile experience is gentle and inviting, perfectly suited for chilled sake.

Crafted by Osaka Naniwa Tinware, a Design Built on Tradition

These pieces are made using time-honored techniques: pouring molten tin into molds and shaping by hand on a lathe.
Osaka Naniwa Tinware, designated a Traditional Craft by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 1983, continues to preserve and refine this heritage. The "gekka" series was born from a collaboration between these traditional craftsmen and the modern design house METAPHYS.

Why Pure Tin?

Each sake bottle bears the engraving "Hon-Suzu" (Pure Tin) on its base, a mark of authenticity.
Tin is a non-toxic metal believed to purify water by absorbing impurities. Used in Japan for over 1,300 years, tin vessels are renowned for enhancing the taste of sake—softening harsh notes and amplifying aroma, especially when warmed.

With a tin purity of 97% or higher, Osaka Naniwa Tinware ensures that your sake is enjoyed at its most refined. Tin’s high thermal conductivity allows quick and even heating without compromising fragrance. Resistant to oxidation and odor-free, these vessels are both functional and effortlessly elegant.
