Laser-cut in the traditional yukiwa (snow ring) shape—symbolizing prosperity—this piece features an adorable, round-faced kijishiro (tabby and white) cat resting peacefully beneath the shade of a sudare (bamboo screen) on a seaside shore.
The waves are represented with the classic seigaiha motif, while the sandy beach is rendered using the same (sharkskin) pattern. A tiny crab is shown scuttling past the napping cat, adding a touch of whimsy to the scene.

The combination of engraving and cutwork brings depth and texture to the design.
