The name "Flag Towel" was inspired by the term "flagship." It is the most basic and standard signature towel of Fujitaka, created to let you experience our reliable quality, often referred to as "Fujitaka's technology," on a daily basis. To ensure it becomes a beloved daily-use item for many, we have achieved top-tier quality in the fundamental aspects of a towel, such as absorbency, texture, and durability. The comfort that exceeds its price is something only possible due to the technical expertise we have cultivated over 100 years since our founding. If this is your first time using a Fujitaka towel, we encourage you to start with this one. The cotton used for the Flag Towel is specially ordered by Fujitaka directly from India. The selected variety is Shankar 6, known for its moderately long fibers, making it one of the most suitable types of cotton for towels among the many varieties available worldwide. Fujitaka has also placed great emphasis on the picking and selection methods of the cotton. All the cotton used in the Flag Towel is handpicked during the second picking period. Compared to the first picking, the fibers are finer and softer. Additionally, unlike machine harvesting, handpicking ensures that immature cotton is not mixed in. For the Flag Towel, only the best cotton is selected by a "Cotton Sommelier," known as the "God of Cotton." These experts, who can discern quality just by touch, meticulously hand-select the cotton for us. When people think of towel manufacturing, they might first imagine the looms used to weave the fabric. However, high-quality towel production begins with a focus on the yarn even before weaving. For example, the yarn used in the Flag Towel is an original, sturdy yarn made specifically for this towel, with excess lint removed during the yarn-making process and two strands of coarse yarn twisted together. This yarn, which is both strong and sufficiently soft, was crucial in creating a towel that is low-lint, long-lasting, resistant to pile distortion even after washing, soft yet firm, and highly absorbent—a towel that excels in every aspect.

Care Guide

〇 Before First Use - New towels will be more comfortable to use after being washed once with water. - Initially, some lint may come off, but this will decrease after a few washes. *Excludes towels made with untwisted yarn. - Storing new towels for a long time without use may cause discoloration. 〇 Washing Instructions - We recommend using a wash cycle with a high water level. - Drum-type washing machines clean by beating the laundry with minimal water, which may cause the pile to harden. For drum-type machines, using the drying function as well will result in a fluffier finish. - Avoid washing with items that have zippers or Velcro as they may snag the pile. 〇 Choosing Detergent - Avoid using detergents with fluorescent agents or chlorine-based bleach, as they may cause discoloration. - Refrain from using fabric softeners as they may reduce the towel's absorbency. Fabric softeners are recommended only for towels that have hardened due to aging. 〇 Spin-Drying and Drying - Prolonged spin-drying can flatten and harden the pile. - Leaving towels unattended after spin-drying may cause the pile to remain flattened, so dry them promptly. - Strong sunlight may cause discoloration and hardening of the towel; dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area. - Leaving towels damp can lead to odors, mold, and bacterial growth, so please take care. 〇 Maintaining Volume - To keep your towels soft and fluffy for longer, hold both ends of the towel and shake it out to shape it before drying. Shaking in the air helps the fibers stand up, resulting in a fluffier finish. 〇 Storage - Store towels without compressing them to maintain their fluffiness. - As towels absorb moisture, store them in a well-ventilated area. 〇 If the Pile Gets Snagged - Towels are delicate fabrics and may get snagged by nails or other objects. - If the pile becomes stretched, cut it at the base with scissors, taking care not to damage the towel's base fabric. - If the hem or edges unravel, sewing over the area with a sewing machine can prevent further unraveling.
