Serving Bowl - Platinum

A refined platinum shallow serving bowl. A serving bowl reminiscent of a wide-brimmed hat that elegantly enhances any dish. The beautiful design, reminiscent of a wide-brimmed hat, enhances the presentation of any dish. By placing a small amount of food in the center, it creates a sophisticated appearance. With its weight concentrated at the base, it is more stable than it looks. The shaping of the material is done using a technique called "Mizukote," where clay is poured into a plaster mold, rotated, and smoothed with a trowel and water. This method is mainly suitable for creating circular items such as rice bowls, tea cups, cups, and plates, requiring the skilled craftsmanship of artisans. Afterward, the piece is dried and trimmed to refine its shape. In porcelain, the final shaping is achieved through trimming, making it a critical process that demands expert skill. The dried piece is then bisque-fired at 920°C over two days, followed by the application of a unique glaze individually brushed on each piece. It is then fired in a reduction kiln at 1300°C over three days. Platinum is later applied as an overglaze and fired at 800°C to complete the process. Inspired by the concept of Japan’s powder snow, this piece is expressed with the eternal brilliance and depth of "platinum." Using a closely guarded technique passed down through the Yasemon kiln, platinum is carefully brush-applied by artisans, creating subtle brushstroke shadows and achieving a deep, radiant shine. While its luster is similar to silver, it does not tarnish or darken like silver and is dishwasher-safe.
