A modern and easy-to-hold free cup with a design featuring ridges that fit comfortably in the hand. It can be used for beer, iced coffee, or any beverage. The shaping of the material is done using a technique called "Mizukote," where clay is poured into a plaster mold and rotated while smoothing the material with water and a spatula. This method is mainly suitable for forming circular items such as rice bowls, teacups, cups, and plates, requiring skilled craftsmanship. Afterward, the piece is dried and trimmed to refine its shape. In porcelain production, the final trimming is a crucial step to shape the piece, requiring expert skills. The dried clay is then bisque-fired at 920°C over two days. Each piece is hand-coated with a unique glaze using a brush and undergoes reduction firing at 1300°C over three days. Platinum overglaze decoration is then applied and fired at 800°C to complete the process. Inspired by the concept of Japanese powder snow, the design expresses a timeless and profound shine using "Platinum." The platinum, formulated through a closely guarded secret technique passed down at the Yazaemon Kiln, is hand-painted by skilled artisans, creating shadowed brush marks that bring out its deep luster. While it has a shine close to silver, it does not tarnish or blacken like silver and is dishwasher-safe.
