Flat Plate (Small) 180mm - Platinum

A refined platinum six-inch plate. It can be used to serve a single portion of salad or as a slightly larger side plate. The plate, with a diameter of 18 cm, is called a six-inch plate and is ideal for serving a single portion of salad or as a slightly larger side plate. It is recommended for times when a five-inch plate feels a bit insufficient. The shaping of the base material is done using a forming method called "Mizukote," where clay is placed in a plaster mold, rotated, and smoothed with water while applying a tool. This method is mainly suitable for forming circular items such as rice bowls, teacups, cups, and plates, and requires skilled craftsmanship. Afterwards, the piece is dried and trimmed to refine its shape. In porcelain production, the final trimming process is crucial to shape the piece, requiring expert skills. The formed base is then bisque-fired at 920°C over two days, followed by the application of a unique glaze individually brushed on with care, and reduction-fired at 1300°C over three days. Subsequently, platinum is overglazed and fired at 800°C to complete the piece. Inspired by Japan's powdery snow, the plate is expressed in "platinum," with its eternal radiance and depth. Using a secret technique passed down within the Yazaemon Kiln, the platinum is meticulously hand-brushed by artisans, creating shadowed nuances from the brushstrokes and achieving a deep, lustrous finish. While it has a brilliance similar to silver, it does not tarnish or blacken like silver and is dishwasher safe.
