Tri-sided Serving Bowl - Platinum

A refined platinum deep bowl with a profound presence. This versatile deep bowl can be used as a serving bowl, soup bowl, shared dish bowl, salad bowl, or even as a flower vase. The rim is naturally curved, giving it a distinctive presence. Its depth makes it suitable as a serving bowl, soup bowl, or a shared dish bowl for hot pots, as well as a salad bowl. It can also be used as a flower vase. The shaping of the base material is done through a technique called "pressure casting," where a plaster mold with convex and concave pairs is layered, and "slip," the base material, is poured in under pressure. The slip solidifies due to the water-absorbing property of the plaster, and the molded piece is removed from the mold. This method is particularly suitable for shaping irregularly formed vessels. Afterward, the piece is dried and trimmed to refine its shape. For porcelain, the final shaping is achieved through trimming, which is a crucial process requiring skilled craftsmanship. The finished base is then bisque-fired at 920°C over two days, followed by hand application of a unique glaze using a brush, and reduction-fired at 1300°C over three days. Platinum is then applied as an overglaze, and the piece is fired at 800°C to complete the process. Inspired by the concept of Japanese powder snow, it expresses an eternal, profound brilliance with "platinum." Using a secret blending technique passed down at the Yazaemon kiln, craftsmen individually apply the platinum with a brush, creating shadowed textures and achieving a deep luster. While resembling the shine of silver, it does not tarnish or blacken like silver and is dishwasher-safe.
