A commitment to form Mr. Arimoto, who describes the silicone spatula as "a tool used multiple times a day," focused on its design to create the ideal silicone spatula. Searching not only in Japan but also abroad, he found spatulas with smooth curves that were not sold in Japan. However, even those did not fully satisfy him, leading him to cut and reshape them with scissors to explore the form. As development progressed, prototypes were created and improved repeatedly. After more than three years of planning, the silicone spatula was born, featuring smooth curves that fit bowls and frying pans and a 90-degree tip that efficiently scrapes the corners of containers. Pursuing the perfect thickness, firmness, and smoothness "Ultimately, deciding on the firmness took a considerable amount of time," Mr. Arimoto recalls. While testing various samples and prototypes, he found that "even a slight increase in thickness made it too hard, while making it thinner caused it to lose resilience." After repeated adjustments, he achieved a satisfying balance of firmness—not too hard, not too soft—with a comfortable resilience. Ease of cleaning as a key feature The beautiful wooden handle and spatula head can be detached for easy and thorough cleaning. Protrusions were added to the insertion points to ensure a secure fit even after repeated use. For those who enjoy cooking comfortably Every aspect of the design and firmness was meticulously refined to allow for clean mixing and scraping. "If it’s too hard or the shape is wrong, you can’t scrape properly. It’s wasteful to give up halfway and just wash it off. Being able to scrape cleanly is crucial," says Mr. Arimoto. He hopes those who want to cook comfortably will try this silicone spatula, perfected to offer just the right firmness. This is a high-quality cooking utensil series made in Japan, combining ease of use and beauty, carefully crafted by skilled artisans.
