This is a plate (square dish) from the "MIMOSA" series, created with the desire to propose new lacquerware suitable for heartfelt gifts. The motif of the design is the mimosa flower, which is rare for lacquerware. The mimosa is designed into a simple and modern pattern, adorably depicted on black or white lacquer. This plate features a form with slightly raised corners and is of a convenient size, making it ideal for everyday use as a dish for sweets or meals.
The language of flowers for mimosa is “gratitude.” Blooming from February to March, signaling the arrival of spring, it is also called the "flower of happiness." In Italy and other countries, March 8th, International Women’s Day, is a day to gift mimosa flowers to women. This custom of giving mimosa to women you appreciate has been spreading globally in recent years. The mimosa pattern makes it the perfect gift for women. It can be used as a birthday present for a wife, girlfriend, partner, or friend, or as a gift for occasions like Mother’s Day or Respect for the Aged Day, expressing heartfelt gratitude.
The base colors are black and white lacquer. The mimosa pattern is not only on the lid but also on the sides, allowing you to further enjoy the contrast between the lacquer and the mimosa design.
The black lacquer is finished with a subdued matte texture, providing a calm appearance, while the tiny yellow mimosa flowers stand out charmingly and playfully. The white lacquer, which is closer to a beige tone, gives a gentle and tranquil impression.
