The traditional grater, crafted using traditional techniques, is made by hammering and hardening a sheet of pure copper, which is then plated with pure tin.
Skilled artisans carve each tooth by hand, giving it a sharp cutting edge unmatched by ceramic or plastic products. Unlike aluminum or stainless steel graters, which are mechanically made with fine, uniform teeth, this grater features wide grooves and irregularly arranged blades.
Grating with dull blades separates the fibers and moisture, diminishing the flavor. Only the traditional pure copper grater can produce a deliciously grated result that retains both the fibers and moisture, preserving the nutrition.
