This piece carries the subtitle “Melody of Blessings.”
The first and second strokes of the character “雨” (rain) represent the very first raindrop falling from the sky and splashing upon impact.
From the third stroke onward, the rhythm of light, joyful rainfall begins to emerge.
Interestingly, the central part of the character (from the fourth stroke on) unintentionally resembles the kanji for “water” (水)—a delightful coincidence.

Meet the Maker: Ryugen

Ryugen's journey began at 26 after a period of deep self-reflection sparked by depression. One day, the answer became clear—writing characters. Encouraged by a spiritual counselor’s insight into a past life spent with a brush, he pursued calligraphy, starting formal training at 29 and becoming a full-time calligrapher at 34. His work centers on awakening consciousness through art.
