Small Plate – Hemp Leaf Pattern / Silver White

A beautiful hammered pattern copper small plate. Mr. Susa, who honed his skills at a long-established workshop of hammered copperware and became independent, is a regular member of the Japan Kogei Association and has created and presented numerous works. The small plate is expressed with a unique sensibility using the techniques of hammered copperware.
The hemp leaf pattern is created using the "sakkin" technique, where the tin applied to the surface is shaved. By baking the tin at a low temperature and finishing it with potassium sulfide, a beautiful contrast of white and black is achieved. Hammered copperware becomes a masterpiece that allows one to enjoy the changes over time through continued use. Each piece is slightly varied in expression to ensure it becomes a one-of-a-kind work.
