Small Plate – Japanese Killifish

A beautiful hammered copper small plate with a hammered pattern. Mr. Susa, who honed his skills at a long-established hammered copperware workshop and became independent, is a full member of the Japan Kogei Association and has created and presented numerous works. The small plate is expressed using the hammered copperware technique and his unique sensibility.
The Japanese killfish design is created using the technique of scraping off tin applied to the hammered surface ("sakkin"). By baking the tin at a low temperature and finishing it with potassium sulfide, a beautiful contrast of white and black is achieved. Hammered copperware is a masterpiece that allows you to enjoy the changes over time as it is used. Each piece is slightly altered in its expression to ensure it becomes a one-of-a-kind work.
